Eliana hit the 6 week mark today, so I thought I’d give a few updates.
- Eliana had her first few shots last week. Thankfully, she had no reactions or problems with them whatsoever. She did very well, aside from screaming for a good 5 or 10 minutes afterwards.
- We’re still waiting for Eliana to develop a schedule. Some nights she’ll sleep 5 hours at a time, then the next night she’ll be awake every hour and a half. She’s still in the “sleeping as much as possible” stage, but since she can’t really play computer games or read novels yet, she doesn’t have much else to do for the time being besides sleep, eat, or crying about sleeping or eating.
- Speaking of shots, she had a “well visit” last week with her pediatrician. She’s already up to 9 pounds (2.5 pounds bigger than her birth weight), and a couple of inches longer. Her eyes are lightening into a lovely shade of blue, too, although she’s been losing her birth hair thanks to her liking to rub her head against my stubble.
- We’ve taken Eliana out for a couple of adventures this week. Yesterday, we went to a brit milah, where we had at least 50 people in one large room. There was barely room to move at times. Eliana slept through the entire thing. Apparently, she really likes noisy situations. Today, we went to a baby shower at Rina’s workplace. Her coworkers were very good to us; we couldn’t fit everything in the car on the way home. Well, we possibly could have, but then we would have had to leave someone behind. She slept through most of that event, too. She’s now been oohed and ahhed by a large number of people in 24 hours. Everyone agrees on her cuteness.
- Recent pictures are still being updated in her photo album, when I get around to it (ideally at least once a week). Email me for the URL if you don’t have it.
That’s all for now. Since she slept most of the day away in the car and in the shower, we’ll see how much she wants to sleep tonight….
Tim and Rina,
Thank you for the update. She is one beautiful little girl. I am sure she loved all the attention when she was awake.
It was such a joy to meet her when I came to visit with the proud Grandparents.
Please give Eliana a hug and kiss from her Aunt Ann.
Love always,
Ann
